dART Festival

A pioneer of the electronic music scene in China, Wang Miao, invited BAM to design a stage set and DJ booth for the dART debut festival in Beijing’s Tango venue. In a workshop BAM developed paper models for a stage design which became the basis for the design.

The set folds to ensconce DJ in a back-lit digital circuit pattern. Designed to work with 3-D mapped projections, the stage comes alive with the superimposition of moving images over the shifting and fading back-light of the circuits.
