BAM co-founder Jake Walker was invited by Surbana Jurong, a leading Singaporean urban, industrial, and infrastructure consultancy, to speak at their Design Circle event series.

In his talk, “The Law of Accelerating Returns,” Jake examined the transformation of design practices, along with broader professions and industries, in response to the exponential acceleration of technology, referencing Ray Kurzweil’s theory.

Jake also discussed how BAM’s evolution as a design practice, while it may appear random, illogical or disconnected, is guided by an intuitive methodology of practice shaped by environmental factors such as speed, volatility, scale, and rapidly accelerating change.
